Dixie
Growers, Inc. has been growing, packing, and shipping fresh
strawberries and vegetables over 20 years.
We have product available from Oct. 1 thru June. Through
our "own" growers located in north, central, and south Florida
we handle over 2,000 acres of strawberries, bell peppers,
cucumbers, yellow and green squash, eggplant, hot peppers, hard
squash and cantaloupes. Being centrally located in Plant City on
the State Farmers' Market, we have the ability to consolidate
and inspect a complete line of produce before shipping to our
customers. With our packing facility of over 64,000 square feet
and our commitment to load up to 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,
we are able to handle any sized order.
New this year, we
will be updating our bell pepper packing line to accommodate
place-packed pepper. Available containers will include RPC (re-usable
plastic containers), Display-Ready Containers (open top corrugated,
same dimensions as the RPC) and of course the Universal 1 1/9 Bu. PLU
labels are available for all packs. We believe this will better
serve our customers. Our pack will consist of high quality Jumbo
or X-Large Bell Pepper.
Also, Dixie Growers
will be offering belt graded cantaloupes this spring instead of our
previous field packed loupes. Our customers will benefit from a
product that is cleaner and sized more consistently. We will have
sufficient quantities as we have expanded our grower acreage. The
product will be available in 24" bins as well as cartons.
The Dixie Grower
"Family" has been together an average of 15 years. This includes our
growers, our employees on the packing lines, on the loading dock and
in the office. We are excited about the new challenges this year and
hope the planned improvements and additions will help serve our
customers' needs more efficiently. Our experience, knowledgeable
